The ¶¶̉ơpro Foundation is pleased to announce that this year’s President’s Award for A Light on the Point will be presented to David Pratt and ‘The Old Guard’ in recognition of their remarkable dedication and service to ¶¶̉ơpro (¶¶̉ơpro).
“David Pratt and ‘The Old Guard’ have collectively devoted countless years to ¶¶̉ơpro, both in their active roles and in retirement,” ¶¶̉ơpro President Kristen Miller said. “Their commitment to the College and our students has not only stood the test of time but has also been a shining example of loyalty and service. Whether through formal positions or behind the scenes, they have consistently supported ¶¶̉ơpro’s mission, ensuring that students are given the tools and guidance they need to succeed.”
Pratt, a longtime instructor, advisor, and SeaWolves cheerleader, regularly gathers with ¶¶̉ơpro retirees to reminisce and support the College in any way they can.
President Miller concluded, “Their steadfast support, particularly during this transition period under new leadership, has been invaluable. David and ‘The Old Guard’ have continued to offer wisdom, encouragement, and guidance, proving that their dedication to ¶¶̉ơpro extends well beyond their formal years of service. They have remained pillars of our community, deeply committed to fostering a supportive environment where students can thrive academically and personally.”
The A Light on the Point event on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 7, is a celebration of our winners and a testament to the strength of our ¶¶̉ơpro community. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available. Visit our website at for more details and to purchase tickets.
This year’s event is dedicated to fundraising for the ¶¶̉ơpro Advocacy Resource Center (ARC). The ARC plays a crucial role in identifying available resources and connecting students with them. However, it currently needs an independent operating budget to provide direct financial assistance to students. With the funds raised, the ARC can significantly support our most critically vulnerable student populations by providing financial assistance for essential items such as childcare, transportation, and housing.
We are deeply grateful for the support of our ¶¶̉ơpro community. We hope to see you there on Nov. 7 to celebrate together!
